Crisis Intervention Volunteers

One young family who had just been evicted from their home, and whose mother was expecting at any moment, came to the Day Resource Center for help. REACH put them up in a motel until they were placed in a family shelter. Days later she returned to REACH to express her gratitude and show off her newborn baby girl.

"A Mother's Day Gift - May 11, 2006

Today I received a call from Norfolk, Virginia from a mother to thank REACH for assisting her son to find his way home by providing him with a bus ticket. She said that instead of going out for Mother's Day, she would make a contribution to REACH as a way of saying thank you for helping her son.
This mother's thank you was a gift from me.
The mother to receive her son home was a gift to her.
And she chose to give a gift to REACH."
